I purchased this book for a relative about to start training. I have over 30 years in the field, having started before there was such a thing as a Phlebotomist. We would go out in the morning for 20+ draws and then some of us would go out again for the patients that were missed (unable to draw). Overfall I think the book is good, it does however go into some areas that phlebotomists do not do. Draw ABG's and collection of CBC's with lambda pipets and isoton. These plus other parts of the book are beneficial in providing knowledge of these processes aref a nice to know thing. I do have issue with the size needles it talks about to use - Any thing less than 21 guage is likely to hemolyze the cells and some of the fancy doodads for neonatal use are interesting - a simple lancet is all you need. Remember using something very small may make you believe you are causing less pain, but that only applies if you have to do it one time. Multiple sticks on a neonates heel or going back to recollet blood because it was hemolyzed is not saving the patient trauma.
